Wild ParkCouncillor Jeane Lepper has asked City Council officers to investigate and take action following complaints about damage to Wild Park linked to the use by adults of an unofficial BMX course in Wild Park.

The Labour and Co-operative Party Councillor for Hollingdean and Stanmer said, “The Olympics gave another great boost to cycling and showed how thrilling – and dangerous – BMX cycling can be.

“Over the last few months I’ve had complaints from dog-walkers, other users of Wild Park and nearby residents about an unofficial BMX course in Wild Park and the aggressive behaviour of some adults using it.”

“There’s concern about damage to trees and bushes, blocking established paths and potential danger to other park users. People living in Coldean, Bates Estate, Hollingdean and the Fiveways area have raised this with me.”
