Welcoming the official opening of Brighton & Hove Albion’s new stadium tomorrow, Labour Co-op Leader, Cllr Gill Mitchell said: “I will be at the match tomorrow, cheering on Albion! It really is a dream come true and Labour has backed the stadium from its inception. The AMEX Community Stadium is a beautiful-looking 21st century home, fit for a team of champions.”
Gill added,
“I hear that Green Leader Bill Randall has said he personally supports the stadium, but the rest of the Greens have consistently opposed the development, as well as the Tories who were firmly opposed until they came into power in 2007. Only Labour have consistently backed Brighton & Hove Albion’s new stadium and we’re happy it’s now here.”
To mark the offical opening, Brighton & Hove Albion will face Tottenham Hotspur. Kick-off is at 3pm.
