Labour Step Left Foot Forward For Stonewall Equality Walk
Brighton & Hove Labour will be taking part in Stonewall’s eighth annual Equality Walk, taking place in the city this Bank Holiday Sunday 1st May.
Local Labour Leader Councillor Gill Mitchell and the Labour Candidate for Queens Park, Chris Cooke, will be attending, to show their support for Stonewall, a leading lobbying organisation for the LGBT community. They will also be helping to raise money for Stonewall’s Education For All campaign, which is tackling homophobic bullying in schools.
Brighton & Hove Labour Leader, Councillor Gill Mitchell, said:
“I’m proud to be taking part in this year’s Brighton Equality Walk on Bank Holiday Sunday and would urge others to take part too.
“Stonewall do some great work for our LGBT Community and we are fully behind the Education for All campaign to tackle homophobic bullying in schools.
“Brighton & Hove is internationally recognised for its vibrant and dynamic LGBT community. I am very proud of the work that the last Labour Government did to support the LGBT people and in Brighton & Hove we want to ensure that a Labour Council continues to deliver that support.”
