Labour and Co-operative Party Councillor, Jeane Lepper has told Council Officers that whatever decisions are eventually taken about the Preston Barracks site on Lewes Road in the Hollingdean and Stanmer Ward which she represents, everything possible should be done to help the small businesses and community groups, including Community Transport based there.

Jeane says, “These businesses employ many local people and some have been based in the area for many years, previously at the Hollingdean Depot and now at Preston Barracks.

“This site has huge potential for housing and for the City’ economy . But when final decisions are being taken about the site, if that involves possible relocation of those there now the Council must do all it can to help them.”
