Labour’s record
We are proud of Labour’s strong record in Brighton & Hove. Working together with the community successive Labour Councils turned this city around and got our local economy thriving again after years of Tory neglect.
Labour has delivered some great achievements for local people. Tangible, visible differences to our city that continue to change lives for the better and make Brighton & Hove a great place to be.
Since the last local elections in 2007 Brighton & Hove City Council has been run by a Tory administration, but whilst our Labour councillors have been in opposition they have still been fighting hard to deliver improvements for our city.
We put together this list of 200 Labour achievements for Brighton & Hove to give you an idea of the real change Labour councillors and MPs have delivered for you.
Compare our record of change with the poor record of the current Tory administration; who have failed to give our city direction, failed to pull off any major projects, and failed to address the significant challenges we face in areas like jobs, housing, regeneration and the environment.
When you come to vote at the next council elections ask yourself not just what each party is promising to fight for, but also whether they can back up their pledges with a strong track record of delivering for our city.
Labour wants to get our city thriving again; to make it the successful, fair and forward-looking place we know it can be.
On 5th May 2011, vote Labour for the progressive council Brighton & Hove needs and deserves.
