Labour: Listen to Hove Residents on Police Station Closure
Hove Labour Councillor for Goldsmid, Melanie Davis urged Senior Police Officials to launch a wide and well-publicised consultation before making any decision on the future of Hove Police Station.
Cllr Davis spoke on behalf of local residents at a Goldsmid Local Action Team (LAT) meeting last night and invited Senior Police Officer Jason Hazzard to the next LAT meeting to discuss the matter further.
Meanwhile, Labour have launched a petition in reaction to the possible closure, to save Hove Police Station Petition. An electronic version of the petition can be signed online, at: www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/e-petitions.
Hove Labour Councillor for Goldsmid Ward, Cllr Melanie Davis, said:
“Hove Police Station faces an insecure future and I think it’s fair that residents get to have their say before any final decision gets made. Of course, it’s vital for local people to be consulted, so the Police must make absolutely certain that they conduct a wide and well-publicised consultation.”
“Residents who want Hove Police Station to remain open should make their voices heard. One way to do this is by signing our e-petition to help save Hove Police Station.”
